Grimpath
Kickstarter Trailer Art

Grimpath was about to launch a Kickstarter at the end of February 2024. We helped to create four artworks that represent a story the trailer will present. The team over at Grimpath already have couple of artworks done for this, but was not very happy with the results and wanted to have them remade into a more professional looking artwork.

Those four artworks will be:

  • A dark wartorn view landscape with lightning strikes

  • Outdoor view of a tavern

  • Indoor tavern view, a boy is seen opening the door

  • Indoor tavern view, a boy is playing Grimpath with thugs

Workflow

The first thing we do was to get many more information out of the team at Grimpath. We want this work to fit perfectly with the theme they wanted to achieve. Grim, dark, Legends of Runeterra, fun, quirky, were just some of the keywords that we needed to ingrained to the work.

The team then started off with sketches, rough colors, doing back and forth of adjustments needed to bring the rest of the work progression to final. In the middle of the process, Grimpath team decides to take out of the artwork from the trailer. But we decided to complete the artwork anyways.

In the final stage, we also need to separate the layers more tightly so the team over at Grimpath can animate them easier into a motion graphic video for the trailer.

Value Delivered

The team has completed all four artworks and the team over at Grimpath was really happy with it. The artworks then got animated by the team over at Grimpath and the three artworks made it into the trailer.

Our artists have delivered the result up to splash art standard. We implemented all the client's requests and ideas in the artworks, enriching the trailer to a desired positioning.

Team Structure

The creation of the artwork required multiple artists to work on one artwork to fullfill the timeline. This also requires artists who give a lot of attention to detail as the work needs a higher level of polish.
